Program Description:

Pharmacists involved in infectious diseases practice and education have growing awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) but limited, inconsistent experience applying it in a structured and collaborative way. Most rely on traditional tools and manual workflows, with uncertainty around appropriate use cases, reliability, and integration into practice. As a result, AI is not yet routinely used as a coordinated strategy to support clinical decision-making, workflow efficiency, or ID education and care. The goal of this program is to equip infectious diseases pharmacists with knowledge and strategies to effectively integrate artificial intelligence into clinical practice and educational activities to support evidence-based decision-making, optimize workflow efficiency, and strengthen interprofessional collaboration.

Agenda:

Following introductions, a moderator will facilitate a panel discussion about integration of AI into ID pharmacy pratice and education. Audience polling will be included throughout, with an opportunity for Q&A at the end.

Target Audience:

Pharmacists practicing infectious diseases interested in incorporating artificial intelligence into clinical practice and educational activities

Learning Objectives:

  •  Describe current and emerging applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in infectious diseases pharmacy practice and education
  • Apply best practices for the safe, ethical, and effective integration of AI tools into pharmacist and learner workflows
