Clinical Pharmacy Specialist- Antimicrobial Stewardship - University of Oklahoma Medical Center

General Description:

Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, responsible for providing all levels of pharmacy services for assigned areas incorporating responsibility for both the clinical and distributive activities.  This includes but is not limited to monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, develops and implements day-to-day activities for specialized pharmacy areas
  • Conducts pharmacy in-services for pharmacy staff, physicians and nursing staff
  • Participates as a preceptor for pharmacy students on clinical rotations from the various programs
  • Coordinates and develops drug protocols and drug monographs for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
  • Performs the necessary quality assurance audits for these protocols
  • Develops policy and procedures for the pharmacy area
  • Assists with Controlled Dangerous Substance audit trail review, adverse drug reaction reporting and drug utilization review
  • Serves as a staff pharmacist when necessary
